Swimming Sports

Today was the Berkley annual swimming sports.  It was an extremely hot afternoon, but our class and team did themselves proud.

Congratulations to the 9 students from Room 19  who represented our team.  You displayed an abundance of IB attitudes; you showed commitment (even when you were hot, maybe dejected and not wanting to carry on), you had tolerance towards others, enthusiasm and independence in knowing what you needed to be doing and what races/heats you were competing in.  I was so proud of you.  I want to make a special mention of Logan, who really raised the bar - 2 personal bests is a fabulous result.

I was thrilled for our relay teams - they worked so well together and really pushed their personal efforts to pull together - such teamwork is fabulous.  They supported each other with enthusiasm, displaying tolerance and empathy at the same time.  We are eagerly awaiting the results next week.

A small snapshot of our time at the pool:

Mahi Tahi was in Lane 4 for every race

An outstanding first place for Mahi Tahi

CONGRATULATIONS ROOM 19

Fantastic to see you having your swimming sports, to hear about personal bests and see the hard work that your studnets are putting in. How many students will be comnpeting in the Inter-Intermediate Waikato Competition. I think its fantastic that Logan was able to achieve two personal bests, a mighty personal effort.
